Industries we serve
Insurance for law firms, from a former attorney.
Law firms are our home turf. Our principal practiced law, then spent years as a senior account executive for AmLaw 200 firms. We bring that sophistication to solo, small and mid-sized practices.
The risks that matter most.
A firm's biggest risks rarely sit in one policy. A malpractice claim, a diverted wire from a trust account and an employment dispute each need different coverage, and they need to work together.
We build programs for litigation, transactional and IP practices, and for firms that are growing, merging, adding practice areas or facing a non-renewal.
Coverage we typically recommend
Spec insight: Many firms don't realize their malpractice policy excludes funds-transfer fraud. We make sure trust accounts are protected by the right cyber and crime coverage.
Questions
Law Firms insurance questions.
What insurance does a law firm need?
Most firms need lawyers professional liability, cyber (including funds-transfer fraud), a business owner's policy or general liability and property, and employment practices liability once they have staff. Workers' compensation is generally required once you have employees.
Can you help if our firm received a non-renewal notice?
Yes. We've re-marketed firms after non-renewals and worked to keep prior-acts coverage intact. Reach out as early as you can before the expiration date.
Do small and solo firms need cyber insurance?
Often, yes. Law firms of every size hold confidential client information and move client funds electronically, which makes them targets for phishing and wire fraud. Malpractice policies typically don't cover those losses.
